Forts, craft-filled lanes, palace cities and desert horizons.
Consider Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur with time for local markets, heritage stays and unhurried evenings.

Palm-lined backwaters, gentle rhythms and coastal flavours.
Pair tranquil waterways with Kochi heritage neighbourhoods, tea-country scenery or a relaxed coastal stay.

Sunlit beaches, Portuguese heritage and laid-back coastal life.
Balance beach time with old-quarter walks, local dining and day trips designed around your energy.

Delhi, Agra and the Taj at sunrise.
Blend major landmarks with neighbourhood walks, food stops and restful travel days.

Varanasi at dawn and the great temple towns of the south. Our oldest speciality.
Madurai, Thanjavur and Rameswaram in the south, Varanasi and Haridwar in the north, with guides who can tell you what you are looking at.

Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, Rajgir and Nalanda, run every season.
The circuit most of our visitors from Thailand, Japan and Sri Lanka come for. We know its hotels and its quiet hours well.

Ladakh's monasteries, the Kashmir valley, Kanchenjunga at breakfast.
Long drives with real views out of the window, and hotels chosen for where they sit rather than what they charge. May to October for Ladakh, all year for Sikkim.

Helpful before you begin
Straight answers, including the ones about safety and money that most travel pages step around.
Most nationalities can apply online for an e-Visa about a month before travelling, and it is usually issued within a few days. We will tell you which type to apply for once we know your route. The application is yours to make, we cannot apply on your behalf, and we do not charge for the advice.
You will have the same driver for the whole trip, hotels we have used before, and a coordinator who knows where you are each day. We arrange a good number of trips for women travelling alone or in pairs. Ask and we will put you in touch with a member of staff who can answer that properly.
Bottled or filtered water only, and we say so to every driver. The hotels we use cook for visitors every day. Tell us on the form if you are vegetarian, vegan, allergic to anything or simply cautious, and we plan the stops around it rather than leaving it to chance.
This is the question that decides whether a trip is enjoyable. India is larger than it looks on a map, so we would rather cut a place than give you four long driving days in a row. If a plan we send feels heavy, say so and we will rework it.
We quote after we know the route, the season, how many of you there are and the standard of hotel you want, because those four things change the figure completely. There is no charge for a plan and no obligation to book it.
Six months ahead is comfortable and three months is workable. For the Char Dham season, or for Kerala in December and January, earlier is better, because the good hotels go first.
